This special issue pursues the quest to better understand these philanthropic landowners by building on case studies and evidence from frontrunners. Key questions to investigate include:
• What specific motivations lead these landowners to adopt NBS?
• How do they perceive the trade-offs between short-term land use practices and long-term ecological gains?
• What role do local community or peer networks play in influencing their decisions to engage with NBS?
• And how (if somehow) they can be recognized and encouraged among the others?
If you are interested in contribution to the Special Issue, please send your abstract (aprox. 300 words with references) to Lenka.Slavikova@ujep.cz no later than on 20 July 2025. Selected authors will be invited to submit the full paper till March 2026.
